OUR HISTORY
The mission was an ambitious and fascinating young project that could have combined high quality agriculture and with the utmost respect for sustainability with a tourism of great charm in what was once the land of the Greeks of Selinunte or THE BELICE VALLEY famous in the world for its history, recognized for the richness and fertility of its land and the scenic beauty of its coast.
And it is right next to the archaeological park of Selinunte that the rows of centuries-old olive trees of the NOCELLARA DEL BELICE cultivar, owned by the Azienda Agricola Villa Melia di Vito Accardo, extend.
Today the company stands out for the production of the "NOCELLARA DEL BELICE" PDO table olives from the delicious and tasty pulp and extra virgin olive oil of superior quality IGP NOCELLARA DEL BELICE strictly certified ORGANIC AGRICULTURE.
The olive harvest takes place from the first days of October to mid-November, rigorously harvested by hand, loaded in plastic crates brought to the factory on the same day for the start of the transformation cycle and storage for a subsequent phase of packaging, all carried out with highly technological machinery capable of ensuring the highest quality of the finished product and its conservation. All stages are naturally carried out in full compliance with the H.A.C.C.P. hygiene and safety rules.
Perfect management of the entire supply chain from tree to shelf to offer the final consumer a safe and high quality product that respects the natural characteristics of the olives and the Nocellara del Belice cultivar extra virgin olive oil.
Working in synergy with local farmers allows the Villa Melia Farm to enrich its basket of agricultural products from the area and from the Sicilian Belicine traditions.
